Abstract: Mr. Peng Feizhang's modern bibliography ideology is the crystallization and main body of the third generation bibliographers’ thoughts in our country. His core ideological contribution is the establishment of modern bibliography with Chinese characteristics. This paper divides the development of Mr. Peng Feizhang's modern bibliography ideology into four stages: foundation laying, preliminary establishment, ideological system formation and deep development, which demonstrate that his ideology on the modern bibliography has been continuously developed and matured. This paper summarizes Mr.Peng’scontribution to the modern bibliography from four aspects: discipline system, theory system, methodology system and education system. It also summarizes the main characteristics of his ideology on the modern bibliography, such as the epoch and openness, the integration of bibliography inheritance, the generalization and perspectiveness of bibliography development, etc. Finally, it analyses Mr. Peng Feizhang's important point of view that bibliography is the science of wisdom.
