科学计量工具冗余了吗?——基于常规分析路径的比较研究

摘要: [目的/意义]通过对科学计量工具的分析比较,为用户选择提供参考,最大化地发挥不同科学计量分析工具的优势,更好地服务于科学计量研究。[研究设计/方法]选取了12款较为常用的科学计量工具,解析了科学计量常规分析路径,从支持的数据来源、可提取的知识单元、提供的数据处理功能、可运用的分析方法、可选择的可视化视图五个方面,对路径下的可用工具进行了比较分析。 [结论/发现] 大多数科学计量工具只能完成常规路径下的部分阶段,只有少数科学计量工具对所有分析阶段的功能提供了支持;每个工具因其开发的目的不同,在功能的实现上各有侧重,功能相近的科学计量工具中存在冗余;一些工具在某个阶段凸显出了较为明显的优势,在实际的应用中可以相结合的进行选择。[创新/价值]从科学计量分析的实际需求出发,广泛调研了较为常用的科学计量工具,并将这些工具映射到常规分析路径中进行了比较。

Abstract: [Purpose/Significance]By comparison of scientometric tools, this paper aims to provide some reference for users to make choices, to maximize the advantages of different scientometric analytics tools, and to better serve the research on scientometrics.[Design/Methodology]Tweleve common scientometric analysis tools were chosen for exploring the conventional approach of scientometric analysis. A comparative analysis was made on usable tools from five aspects including supported data sources, extractable knowledge units, available data processing functions, applicable analysis methods and optional visualization. [Findings/Conclusion]Most tools can only be used during part of the whole stage, and just minority of them could support all the functions during the whole analysis phase. Due to different development purposes, each tool has its own emphasis on functions. There is redundancy in the tools with similar functions. Some tools have obvious advantages in certain stages, and they could be selected and combined in practical applications.
[Originality/Value]Based on the actual demand of scientometric analysis, the common tools have been widely investigated, and the tools are mapped to the conventional approach for comparison.
