Abstract: [Purpose/Significance] From the emotional perspective, this paper aims to analyze the domestic and oversea research progress and development trends of network public opinion, which could help scholars in related fields understand the research hotspots and development directions, and provide theoretical support and reference value for further research in the future. [Design/Methodology]With the use of word cloud and CiteSpace,the literature number, keywords, and research hotspots were visualizedly analyzed.Moreover, by using the literature analysis method, the classification, evolution, prediction and governance of network public opinion were concluded and compared within domestic and oversea research. A literature review was conducted for the research on network public opinion and the future development directions were obtained. [Findings/Conclusion] Through the conclusion and organization of relevant literatures at home and abroad, a summary has been made for the research on network public opinion from the perspective of emotion. Moreover, the future development direction of this field has been gained. [Originality/Value] This paper sorts out the research on network public opinion at home and abroad from the different stages of network public opinion sentiment analysis, summarizes the research keypoints and future development directions, which could provide reference for further research on network public opinion.
