Abstract: [Purpose/Significance] The purpose of this study is to explore the factors influencing the everyday information seeking of Ethnic Minorities with Small Populations(EMSP)after they relocated to poverty alleviation areas in Yunnan Province, and to provide reference for the research and practice of "New Urban Residents" information behavior. [Design/Methodology] The Dulong and Nu ethnic groups in the relocation poverty alleviation resettlement sites in Nujiang Prefecture, Yunnan Province, were selected as the survey samples. The data of 45 respondents were collected through in-depth interviews, and the sample data were analyzed using the Grounded theory method. [Findings/Conclusion] It is found that Ethnic characteristics, as a preexisting limiting factor, constrain EMSP's motivation and information source selection in everyday information seeking through their dependence on traditional customs and lifestyles. Field reconstruction, as a self-induced transformation factor, will gradually transform the space perception motivation and the scene recognition path of EMSP's everyday information seeking in new information environments. Social integration, as a regulatory factor, can reduce the limitations of ethnic characteristics on EMSP's everyday information seeking while also enhancing the transformation of field reconstruction in their everyday information seeking. [Originality/Value] Compared with previous studies on "New Urban Residents", which focused more on situational factors in the process of social integration centered on "citizenization" and "urbanization", this study further reveals the factors influencing the everyday information seeking of EMSP in relocation from a spatial transformation perspective.
