Abstract:

With the advent of the information age, academic communication is changing, more and more original academic achievements are published in the open access digital publishing platforms. At the same time, more scholars use social media to communicate with their peer in scientific research. Altmetrics is rising gradually as a new academic assessment method, and it is playing an important role in the area of evaluation research. We studied Altmetrics and OA resources to find their relationship. Thinking about how to better play the role of them. We get journal’s information and screen some papers from ScienceDirect Database and Scopus Database, using Altmetric.com and Plumx as the alternative source of metrology index, calculating yearly OA、NOA and OAAA values and observing the trend. We discover that, there is a relationship between OA resources and Altmetrics. For the same hybrid journals, the Altmetrics of OA resources is higher than NOA resources. And this correlation decreased with the publishing time. Finally, we discussed their relationship from their supplementary、the value of Altmetrics for OA resources、their common features and so on. Hoping to provide references to the research of the Altmetrics and the use of OA resources.
