Abstract: [Purpose/Significance] In Big Data Era, archival data has rapidly increased and become an important form of archival information resources. At the same time, problems such as data quality, data pollution, data heterogeneity and data security are becoming increasingly prominent, which hamper the construction of archival data resources and service innovation. It is urgent to explore the ecosystemic conditions, operation rules and balance mechanism of archival data. [Design/Methodology] In this study, the methods of literature research, structural analysis were used to analyze the characteristics and causes of the ecological imbalance of archival data, and explore the regulation path of the ecological balance of archival data. [Findings/Conclusion] We found that the balancing and adjusting of archival data ecologies should focus on the balanced development of archival data ecologies, innovate the balance regulation methods from the aspects of concept, rules, management and technology, optimize the archival data governance ecologies, and promote the healthy operation of the archival data ecosystem. [Originality/Value] This article comprehensively uses the knowledge of data management and ecosystem theory to explore the balance and adjustment of archival data ecologies from the dual perspectives of data ecology and organizational ecology, which can promote the cross-penetration and integration of archival science, data science and ecology, and open up a new field of archival data research.
