Investigation and Analysis of the Faculty Construction in LIS Educational Institutions in China

Abstract:

Through the Internet, this paper investigates 37 educational institutions in China which get the “library, information and archival management” master degree authorization from aspects of academic backgrounds, research areas and internationalization of the faculties, and issues a survey questionnaire to 28 of which to get more supplementary information. Based on the investigation results, it summarizes the current situation and characteristics of the faculty construction in LIS educational institutions. And by comparison with foreign iSchools, it put forward the proposal for the faculty construction of LIS education in China.
