Abstract:

Link analysis is limited by the shortage of data sources, and Webometrics studies in China comes to the low stage. By reviewing international Webometrics studies in recent five years from 2010 to 2014, the paper is aimed to provide reference to Webometrics studies in China. Results show that, Webometrics studies in the post link analysis era is led by UK and South Korea. Research topics are: in methodology aspect, web usage and bookmark analysis, title and URL mention analysis, Web flow analysis and Web log analysis; in scientific evaluation aspect, University ranking, web impact evaluation, journal evaluation and website quality evaluation; in scientific structure and topic detection aspect, scientific structure and topic detection; in areas outside the academia, harvesting business intelligence, monitoring political activity and public sentiment analysis etc.
