Abstract:

The object of study of the library thought history is the ideology and spiritual purport behind the study object of the history of library science, which is the specific existing libraries in the history. Then, the research of Chinese ancient library science thought history should be conducted on two lines:revealing the main contents, characteristics and evolution law of the library science thought from the perspective of historical description, and analyzing the practical significance of “the past” thought to “the contemporary” library from the perspective of value revealing. On the basis, the dead ideological tradition can change to “living” wisdom resources.
