Abstract:

It is time-consuming effort for acquisition librarian to purchase interdisciplinary Chinese books merely according to some publishers. Taking waterway transport (CLC: U6) for example, the core papers of U6 from 2004 to 2013 were retrieved from China Academic Journal Network Publishing Database（CAJD） in CNKI. Meanwhile, the cited and downloaded numbers of them were also acquired. By establishing a new way of computing according to the condition whether a paper is cited by SCI, EI, CSSCI and the ranking of an institution in a paper, the equivalent number of papers of an institution was computed. Finally, the important institutions of U6 were evaluated by using comprehensive index method and were zoned by using Bradford’s law according to the equivalent numbers.
