Health Information Service Promoting the Future of Public Libraries:Interpretation of NHS Library Quality Assurance Framework England

Abstract:

Since NHS Library Quality Assurance Framework England sets out national standards for the development of England National Health Service and enables a robust quality assessment of library/knowledge services, it formulated the 48 important standards including strategic management, finance, human resources and staff management, infrastructure and facilities, and library/knowledge services delivery, and incorporated library health information service into national development program schedule. This paper selects NHS Library Quality Assurance Framework as an example, and analyzes its contents including service policy, staff qualification, service space, funding and service projects, which are core standards of health library service. It reveals their secrets of success, containing closely surrounding state policy, creating a high-experienced  service environment,actively absorbing the social support, targeting service promotion for different types of public, focusing on health knowledge service. These implications can be helpful for the development of domestic health services in libraries, so as to promote theoretical research and practical innovation.
