Abstract:

In the big data environment, Information Science is facing a brandnew developing opportunity. This paper investigates the impacts of big data on the research of Information Science in terms of the process, including expanding the domain of Information Science, bringing new research methods, developing new data sources, exploring new data acquisition methods,enlarging data scale, providing new research tools, and improving researchers' participation and disciplinary influence. We should have a deep insight into the changes of Information Science research in the big data environment, and find valuable research questions to constantly produce impressive achievements, and broaden the influence and penetration of Information Science.
