Abstract:

[Purpose/Significance] Taking the linked bibliographic data as the research object, an automatic mapping model of classification number has been built by using the characteristics of linked bibliographic data which has been indexed. It could provide reference for the mapping method of taxonomy. [Design/Methodology] Based on the analysis of interoperability methods, taking the linked bibliographic data indexed by the Dewey Decimal Classification and the Library of Congress Classification as examples, this study analyzed the characteristics of bibliographic data and the feasibility of mapping, established comprehensive matching rules for attribute information, content information, and linked information about linked bibliographic data, and built one to one mapping of the classification numbers under the identification of the equivalent books. [Findings/Conclusion] Through experimental tests, linked bibliographic data can be used to establish effective mapping relations for classification schemes. Matching rules are expected to be improved in the future. [Originality/Value] This paper has proposed an automatic mapping model of different classification schemes based on open linked bibliographic data. It will provide reference for automatic mapping of other taxonomic systems.
