Abstract:

［Purpose/Significance］This paper aims to summarize the main points of the Third Academic Seminar on Library History and provide a reference for the compilation of library history and annals. ［Design/Methodology］The paper reviewed previous studies and the proceedings, then sort out recent progress and new achievements of the research on bibliophile, book collecting history, library history and annals, modern library history, history of books and reading, library personage and librarianship. ［Findings/Conclusion］This study provided some suggestions on the practice of compiling public and university library history and annals. Moreover, expectation was made for the future work. ［Originality/Value］The paper proposes the idea of conducting library history compilation by the leadership of library spirit, and put emphasis on the role of library history and annals in the dissemination of library history and culture.
