Abstract: ［Purpose/Significance］This paper provided a comprehensive illustration of the developmental direction and characteristics of intelligence science in China in the new era, including value proposition, necessity and specific contents.
［Design/Methodology］From the historical development perspective of intelligence science research content, and with the combination of literature collation and theoretical analysis, this paper found that the research direction was determined by decision-making and the new development points were oriented to serving national strategies.［Findings/Conclusion］The research content of intelligence science should adapt to national strategies and social applications, and fully reflect the interdisciplinary and applicable characteristics of intelligence science so as to establish an academic discipline system of big intelligence, and help develop talents' ability of comprehensive intelligence.［Originality/Value］From the perspective of discipline development history, this paper has expounded how to make intelligence science research direction oriented to national strategies and social applications, and offered a detailed description of relevant specific research contents.
