Promoting the Integration of Data, Information and Knowledge: Literature Review on the JCDL 2020

Abstract: [Purpose/Significance]By reviewing the proceedings papers of the Joint Conference on Digital Libraries (JCDL) in 2020, this paper aims to sort out and analyze current research contents and findings of digital library, and provide reference for Chinese scholars in relevant fields to grasp the disciplinary frontiers.[Design/Methodology]By using the method of literature review, this paper summarized and refined the research hotspots and frontiers reflected in the papers of this annual meeting.[Findings/Conclusion]JCDL 2020 covers a wide range of research topics and presents a characteristics of collaborating with data science. It focuses on the exploration of users’ information behavior, construction of future libraries, as well as fine-grained and precise library services. It also possesses a cross-disciplinary characteristic. Due to the public health crisis caused by COVID-19, more attention is paid to the value of biomedical informatics.[Originality/Value]Current hotspots and trends of library and information science research have been revealed.
