Abstract: ［Purpose/Significance］In order to provide support and guidance for the follow-up research, this study systematically explores the characteristics and shortcomings of new urban residents’information behavior and proposes future research directions.
［Design/Methodology］This paper employed a three-stage searching strategy to systematically investigate the domestic and foreign researches on the information behavior of new urban residents. Firstly, it analyzed the constituent elements of new urban residents’ information behavior and conducted a systematic review on their influencing factors. Then, three types of new urban residents’ information behavior models were analyzed, which are the element type, the stage type, and the overall type.
［Findings/Conclusion］The existing research on the constituent elements of new urban residents’ information behavior primarily focuses on information needs, information sharing, and information utilization; several influencing factors of new urban residents’ information behavior have been identified,  such as information subjects, information environment, and the socio-cultural integration with cities; To date, most new urban residents’ information behavior models are built from a partial perspective. The future research needs to pay attention to the new urban residents’ subgroups and the heterogeneity within them, attach importance to the socio-cultural context that the new urban residents live in, explore the influence of the past information practical experience on their information behavior, and strengthen the application of mixed research methods.［Originality/Value］This paper systematically arranged the existing research on the constituent elements, influencing factors, as well as the related models of new urban residents’ information behavior, and summarized the existing research deficiencies and future development directions, which could provide references for in-depth research on new urban residents’ information behavior.
