Abstract: [Purpose/Significance] Under the background of digital economy, there is a need to further integrate the discipline of information resources management into the construction of the data elements marketplace and actively cultivate new academic growth points. [Design/Methodology] This paper first analyzed the correlation logic between the discipline of information resources management and data elements, as well as the role construction of the discipline, then introduced some core issues from the perspective of information resources management discipline, and finally put forward some proposal for the future development of integrating the discipline and data elements. [Findings/Conclusion] Researching on data elements is a new field and direction of information resources management. At present, we should give full play to the characteristics and advantages of the discipline and promote the research and practice of data elements in an organized way. [Originality/Value] Through the lens of the discipline of information resources management, this paper examines the research problems of data elements, which can provide enlightenment for further expanding the field and advancing research in this field , as well as contribute reference for the construction of discipline discourse in the development of data elements and digital economy.
