The Defintion of the Information Professionals from the International Occupations Classification

  

Abstract:

This paper uses content analysis and text mining to analyze several representative Classification of Occupations, and summarizes the positioning and attributes of the information professionals in the international organization. Statistical results show that:①the elements of the information professionals, extracted from Classification of Occupations, are consistent with those defined in this paper; ②the focus work contents of information professionals in different organizations are different, but they are all around the information process; ③the distribution of information professionals,which is not limited to a particular sector,  is widespread in all areas of social sectors. The reason that the responsibilities and objectives of information professionals are consistent. The conclusion of the article is that: information professionals really exist. It is not limited to specific institutions, moreover gradually penetrates into more and more areas. The vocation of Information professionals is a career, set which has the same problem domain and methodology set.
