Abstract:

Institutional repository has been widely recognized and used in recent years, and the content construction already becomes a bottleneck for the development. Through comparing with the present situation of the institutional repositories’ content construction in the terms of the resources included and the rate of full texts, the type of resources ,the quality level of resources, the method for organization and the resource construction standard, the study expounds the similarities between the problems of institutional repositories in China and the USA, such as the uneven quality of resource, the faulty construction standards and the lack of sharing.
