Abstract: [Purpose/Significance]Comprehensive observation and analysis of the advanced experience on cultivating adolescents’reading literacy in Finland could provide references for library service oriented towards the adolescents in China.[Design/Methodology]This paper took the program "Joy of Reading" in Finland as the research object. With the use of case study, the modes of reading literacy education for adolescents have been combed from three aspects, including external environment construction, internal structure construction and core activity development.[Findings/Conclusion]Based on the advanced experience of Finland and according to the current situation of library services for the youth in China, suggestions on adolescents’reading literacy education have been proposed.[Originality/Value]By comprehensively investigating the practical experience of reading literacy education in Finland and considering the local situation in China, feasible approaches for improving the development of Chinese adolescents’ reading literacy education have been proposed.
