Abstract: [Purpose/Significance] By studying the user information journey from the perspective of behavioral transitions, this paper explores the laws of user information behavior, and provides theoretical support and application reference for a systematic and in-depth interpretation of user information behavior research. [Design/Methodology] A systematic review method was used to comb through the existing research literature, and 53 relevant papers published between 2004 and 2023 were included in the analysis to clarify and integrate the development of current research. [Findings/Conclusion] The current research exists with some theoretical models to provide theoretical support, with a bias towards a qualitative approach in data collection and analysis, and there is scope for further development of applied contexts in this area. Information journey research is a comprehensive research field focusing on theoretical exploration and practical validation, and the future research shows a development trend of the construction of information journey theory, the integrated application of interdisciplinary methods, the expansion of multidisciplinary application scenarios and the deepening of information journey research content. [Originality/Value] Existing research results about information journey are still relatively lack, there is still much room for further exploration in this field, by combing with the information journey related research and the specific turn situation, this paper explores the research vein of the user information journey, in order to provide a theoretical basis for the information behavior research, and offers a significant reference for enhancing the comprehension of users' information journey.
