Research on Practice Teaching in LIS education in China

Abstract:

Library and information science is an applied subject, which determines that we must pay much attention to the cultivation of students’ practical and creative ability. Based on the questionnaire survey and network survey of the practical teaching system in 28 educational institutions obtained the graduate degree conferral right for first level discipline of LIS and 11 educational institutions obtained the doctoral degree conferral right, this paper introduces the conditions of experimental curriculum system, social practice, professional practice and students’ scientific research activities. It also analyses guarantee conditions of practical teaching system. In order to improve the practical teaching quality of library and information science, we must make effort to reform teaching content, strengthen practical ability of teachers and promote the industry exchange.
