Abstract:
The era of big data is driving the innovation of the talent cultivation mode of Information Management Major. Students are important components in the innovation and their participation attitude and participation intention directly determine the success or failure of the innovation of the talent cultivation mode. Firstly, we designed an innovation which encourages students to teach in the class and this innovation is the object examined by this study. Then, the research model was developed based on the innovation diffusion theory. A questionnaire survey was conducted oriented to undergraduates majoring in information management in three universities located in Hubei and 270 valid data were collected. The Partial Least Squares (PLS) Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was used to conduct data analysis. The results indicate that students’ attitude towards participation in the innovation has a significant and positive impact on their intention to participate in the innovation. Relative advantage is the first key determinant affecting students’ attitude towards participation. Compatibility is the second key determinant. The impact of effort expectancy on students’ attitude towards participation is overpowered by relative advantage.
