Abstract: ［Purpose/Significance］Due to the disables’ physical and mental characteristics, it is difficult to get their information needs. This study revealed the disables’ information needs in a quantitative way by analyzing the news and traffic data on the websites of Disabled Persons' Federation (CDPF).［Design/Methodology］This study analyzed the highly-visited news of the CDPF websites. By using the method of natural language processing, the disables’ information needs were obtained, which were verified by interviewing in order to prove the creditability of the conclusions obtained through online analysis. ［Findings/Conclusion］Despite of the diversity of the disabled people’ s information needs, their stable information needs are related to the basic life without time-dependent changes. It is feasible and effective to use data on the CDPF websites to obtain their information needs through natural language processing and other methods.［Originality/Value］This paper acquires objective data directly through the websites of Disabled Persons’ Federation, and obtains their information needs through natural language processing. Meanwhile, the rationality of the results are verified by interviewing. The method used in this paper could reveal the disables’ information needs in a stable and constant way. Moreover,this paper provides an innovative idea and method for exploring the information needs of special groups.
