Abstract: ［Purpose/Significance］BIBFRAME has been adopted by many European national libraries. By investigating its process, the localizing route of BIBFRAME could be clarified. Moreover, it could provide a reference for the development of BIBFRAME in China.
［Design/Methodology］Systematic investigation has been conducted from the aspects of converting the bibliographic data format, digitalizing linked authority file, developing new cataloging system, building bibliographic data model and applying linked open data platform in European national libraries, as well as their roles in the BIBFRAME process.［Findings/Conclusion］The European national libraries have realized that the promotion and application of BIBFRAME is inevitable in the process of linked data digitalization. But it is necessary to coordinate the relationship between BIBFRAME and RDA, promote the global development of BIBFRAME, and obtain more support from libraries and suppliers.［Originality/Value］How the new cataloging rules and new bibliography format are integrated and applied in cataloging is the current focus.The experience of the European library community will provide a reference for the selection and development in our country.
