Abstract: [Purpose/Significance] Health informatics has gradually become a hot research field because of the implementation of Healthy China strategy. This study aims to systematically summarize the discipline category, research paradigm and the correlation path, which will promote the development of domestic health informatics. [Design/Methodology] First, to explore the discipline category of health informatics, we performed the quantitative analysis of the interdisciplinary status and research topics of 20559 related papers. Secondly, in order to construct the paradigm framework of the discipline from a qualitative perspective, the content analysis method was used to encode and summarize the research content, data sources, research methods and theoretical basis. Finally, a knowledge graph of correlation paths among the elements of health informatics was constructed by  the Neo4j software, and its feasibility was verified. [Findings/Conclusion] The findings reveal that health informatics is a typical interdisciplinary discipline with wide coverage and strong interdisciplinary. The main research contents of health information are the application of artificial intelligence algorithm, users and information behavior, the application of human-computer interaction system, clinical application of information technology, information and knowledge service, information storage and organization, information retrieval, and bibliometrics, which are the base of paradigm framework and correlation path knowledge map of this field. [Originality/Value] This paper systematically summarizes the discipline category and paradigm framework of the health informatics, and provides useful suggestions to strengthen the development of health informatics discipline in China.
