Abstract:

Based on the relevant literatures of book evaluation in China, combined with the development process analysis and the main evaluation thoughts put forward by experts, the paper summarizes the concrete evaluating indices and models as four levels including library books evaluation methods, book citation analysis, readers’ reviews summary and comprehensive book evaluation methods.Among them, the evaluation method of library collection is subdivided into the evaluation of library use efficiency, the quantity evaluation of library collection and RFM model. Research results show that the book evaluation methods are very rich, each method has its own advantage. However,there are still evaluation methods which refer to journal evaluation.Meanwhile, the contraction and conflict among these methods are not rare,the designing principle of some evaluation indicators mainly depends on the fame.Therefore,more objective,uniform,thorough and dynamic evaluation indicator systems are necessary.
