Abstract:

With a whole sample research method, the authors analyze 9136 titles listed in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) to find out those which are indexed by ISI. According to the results, there are 512 titles indexed by ISI and the ratio is relatively low. The indexed open access journals are published in 49 countries and regions, and 43.05 per cent of which are published by American publishers. The indexed journals cover a variety of subject areas, meanwhile take on a highly concentrated situation, namely most of them are published in a few disciplines; and the majority of them are published by associations, societies, universities and research institutions.
