Abstract:

As more and more attention was paid to Altmetrics application study, the research on Altmetrics tools become a flourishing development topic in this field. Currently, there are eight specific Altmetrics application tools including AltmetricsAltmetric.com、Plum Analytics、ImpactStory、PLoS ONE Altmetrics、Readermeter、ScienceCard、PaperCritic and CitedIn.This paper made a detailed analysis and discussion on every tool’s function characteristics,advantages and disadvantages. Based on the research conclusion, scholars can make a clear sense of the development status of Altmetrics tools, and then foster strengths and circumvent weaknesses to have a better service for their future study. Finally, the outlook of Altmetrics application study was presented.
