Abstract:
We have organized the investigation of the national MLIS education development fourthly in 2016. This report shows the current situation of MLIS education in 2016 from the perspective of training units, teaching staff, enrollment, source of students and cultivation. By comparison with previous data, it reflects the development of MLIS education. The survey of 30 MLIS training units shows that the total number of fulltime teachers in 2016 have reached 806, with tutors of MLIS 477 and parttime instructors 385. MLIS have enrolled 737 graduate students, with increase of 4.54% compared to 2015.Among them, students from 985 or 211 accounted for 26.59%, while crossdiscipline examinees accounted for 73.41%. Most training units adjust their courses and teaching according to the needs of the society, and gradually form their own characteristics while paying attention to the professional practice. In addition, the survey also involved MLIS graduate employment situation, teaching resources construction, training results evaluation and more in 2016.
