Abstract:

After 40 years’ development, university libraries in China have ushered in a new era. The project of DoubeFirst Class has changed the document resources allocation of university libraries. In order to explore the healthy development of university libraries’ resources in a new era, this article analyzed the financing of various university libraries over years and found out that the investment of electronic journals was much higher than that of paper resources. It also illustrated that there were seven major challenges for resource construction in university libraries, such as funding, personnel, management, etc. It has been pointed out that university libraries should change the traditional way of document resources construction, and take countermeasures from the aspects of resource structure, local resource organization, as well as the organization and management of digital resources.
