Abstract: ［Purpose/Significance］Since 2016, blockchain technology has attracting great attention in the field of records and archives management. Analysis of the current research situation is helpful to understand the application trend of this emerging technology, and provide research directions for further study.［Design/Methodology］According to the idea of What-Why-How, this study summarized the research of blockchain application from three aspects: blockchain technology review from the perspective of records and archives management, the applicability analysis and the application of blockchain technology in records and archives management.［Findings/Conclusion］Blockchain technology is commonly accepted in the field of records and archives management at home and abroad, which is still a continuing research hotspot. However, there are also some problems, such as lack of theoretical research on management, weak professional influence of archives, and inadequate discussion on sharing deployment.［Originality/Value］With the analysis of current situation, the deficiencies of existing researches have been found, and further research directions have been pointed out from the aspects of theory, technology, management and governance so as to provide some reference for further research on the application of blockchain in records and archives management.
