Abstract: ［Purpose/Significance］In an increasingly complex and changeable society, it is very important and necessary to apply artificial intelligence technology to epidemic information management for improving the ability of epidemic prevention and control and ensuring social security.［Design/Methodology］This paper discussed the challenges of epidemic information management in the new situation and the changes in information management aroused by artificial intelligence. It also analyzed the role of artificial intelligence in epidemic information management based on the theories of information management and emergence management. Moreover, domestic and foreign cases were also taken into consideration.［Findings/Conclusion］In conclusion, AI technology has great potential applications in epidemic information management, which also encounters obstacles including big data, algorithm and data security. Therefore, this paper suggests that the government needs to promote data sharing and research cooperation among agencies and improve regulations associated with epidemic prevention and control.［Originality/Value］The role of artificial intelligence in epidemic information management is systematically analyzed in this paper, which will help to stimulate innovation of information management in epidemic control and other social emergency management.
