Abstract: The purpose of this study is to re-discuss the construction of discourse system of archival science to enhance the consciousness and autonomy of the construction and expand the theoretical research of archival discourse system with Chinese characteristics in the new era. [Design/Methodology] Using mixed methods of literature research, historical research and policy analysis, this article analyzes the mechanism and path of constructing discourse system of archival science with Chinese characteristics in the new era. [Findings/Conclusion] The conclusions of this study are as follows:（1）From a historical perspective, the construction of the archival discourse system with Chinese characteristics has undergone development and evolution from discipline creation to discourse creation, from discipline independence to discourse independence, from discipline self-improvement to discourse self-improvement, and from discipline self-confidence to discourse self-confidence.（2）From a realistic perspective, the construction of the archival discourse system with Chinese characteristics in the new era shoulders the mission of explaining the development path and development mode of Chinese archives, the mission of building an open and confident archival discourse system that integrates Chinese and foreign countries, the mission of enhancing the innovation capacity of Chinese archival discourse,the mission of promoting the popular dissemination of Chinese archival discourse, and the mission of strengthening the international dissemination of China's archival science discourse.（3）To this end, it is urgent to take into account both history and reality, insist on the unity of localization and internationalization, the unity of academic and practical aspects, the unity of inheritance and innovation, and the unity of inward and outward orientation, strengthen the support of discipline and academic systems, build a Chinese archival school based on Chinese reality, construct an independent knowledge system rooted in Chinese soil, promote theoretical innovation for the "two big situations", and integrate Chinese and foreign discourse expressions with the perspective of the times. [Originality/Value] The historical warp and woof, the main tasks, the basic logic and the realization path of the construction of the archival discourse system with Chinese characteristics in the new era are clarified.
