Abstract: [Purpose/Significance] Constructing an independent knowledge system of Chinese archival science is not only an inevitable requirement for the development of philosophy and social sciences with Chinese characteristics, but also a historical mission entrusted by the times to archival scholars. [Design/Methodology] On the occasion of the tenth anniversary of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech at the Symposium on Philosophy and Social Sciences Work, guided by the spirit of the important speech, and based on subjectivity and originality, this paper employs literature analysis and historical research to elucidate the solid foundation, internal logic, and basic pathways for constructing an independent knowledge system of Chinese archival science. [Findings/Conclusion] The construction of an independent knowledge system of Chinese archival science is deeply rooted in the localization of the knowledge framework, the characteristic layout of the disciplinary system, and the theoretical condensation of practical experiences. It follows the internal logic of historical self-awareness, cultural self-awareness, theoretical self-awareness, and contemporary self-awareness. Looking forward, the construction of an independent knowledge system of Chinese archival science should further refine new concepts, extract new theories, introduce new perspectives, extend new interpretations, achieve new applications, and establish a new pattern. Through these efforts, it aims to create and articulate iconic concepts of archival science, construct original theories of archival science, broaden the cognitive dimensions of archival academic observation, establish an academic theoretical coordinate system for independent development, strengthen the social value of archival research achievements, and enhance their international influence. [Originality/Value] Guided by the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech at the Symposium on Philosophy and Social Sciences Work, and based on subjectivity and originality, this paper analyzes the foundation, logic, and pathways for constructing an independent knowledge system of Chinese archival science, and provides guidance and reference for the prosperous development of archival science with Chinese characteristics.
