Abstract: [Purpose/Significance] The screenshot behavior of users in the social media environment is closely related to personal digital resource management and social trust construction. This article aims to systematically focus on and integrate user screenshot behavior, and construct a theoretical model of user screenshot behavior in social media environments. [Design/Methodology] Based on grounded theory, 22 interview materials and 681 posts crawled from Weibo are coded in three stages, and a user screenshot behavior model in social media environment is established. [Findings/Conclusion] The results show that user screenshot behavior in social media environment is mainly influenced by information, motivation, user, technology and environmental factors. At the same time, this study reveals the characteristics of screenshot behavior from three aspects: frequency, tools, and types of screenshot behavior. We also find that the alienation of screenshot behavior is mainly manifested in digital hoarding, communication risks, and intellectual property infringement. [Originality/Value] From the perspective of the discipline of information resource management, this paper takes screenshot behavior as one of the important user information behaviors in social media environment, and discusses its generation mechanism, behavior characteristics and alienation results. It then provides reference suggestions for social media users and platform services, help suppress the results of screen capture alienation behavior.
