Abstract: [Purpose/Significance] In 2024, the Secretariat of the National Master's Degree Education Guidance Committee for Library and Information Science organized and implemented the twelfth national survey on the development status of MLIS education, aiming to comprehensively and objectively reflect the status and changes in the development of MLIS education in our country. [Design/Methodology] The questionnaire are used to collect the data of teachers, enrollment, education training, employment and joint training bases of MLIS training units, and the development status of MLIS education is analyzed by comparing with historical data. [Findings/Conclusion] MLIS education in China is developing steadily. The specific performance is as follows: the steady growth of the teaching staff, the continuous expansion of the enrollment scale, the good employment status of graduates, and the increasingly standardized curriculum setting, educational resource construction and training process management of each training unit. [Originality/Value] We have been tracking the development of MLIS education for 12 consecutive years, providing support for decision-making by degree and education management departments as well as various training institutions. In addition, discussions are held regarding the establishment of joint training bases.
