Abstract:

[Purpose/Significance] This paper demonstrates the cutting edge topics and developing tendency of "Five Metrics" discipline from the perspective of the 16th ISSI conference, which could provide reference for the following research. [Design/Methodology] This paper firstly introduces the conference from three aspects: the theme of parallel sessions, the distribution of papers and the honors and awards. Secondly, according to the conference proceedings, it summarizes the main research topics of "Five Metrics" in the new period. Finally, the developing tendency of "Five Metrcis" is proposed. [Findings/Conclusion] In the new era, there are mainly seven research topics of "Five Metrcis", such as citation analysis, Altmetrics, measurement methods and models, science policy and evaluation, patent measurement and mining, science collaboration and communication, and others. Moreover, there are six major development trends including scientificalization, networking, intellectualization, integration, practicality and internationalization. [Originality/Value] From the perspective of international conference, this paper comprehensively and systematically analyzes the research topics and tendency of "Five Metrcis".
