Abstract: ［Purpose/Significance］Research on challenges and strategies of archiving social network information based on 5G aims to deepen the readiness of information management theories and methods in a digital context.［Design/Methodology］Difficulties of archiving information objects, subjects and actions in the context of 4G were summarized by literature review. With the consideration of the 5G information context, challenges were concluded for information archiving of social media, including identification of archiving scope resulting from diversity of information contexts, archiving method selection due to full recording of information, and in-depth archive attributing to multi-dimensional information space.［Findings/Conclusion］Corresponding strategies have been proposed such as archival extension based on the non-linear view of time, omni collaboration based on socialized preservation, governance focusing on front-end control and top-layer design, and integration of humanistic care with technological application.［Originality/Value］Countermeasures have been proposed for information archiving of social networks in the tendency of 5G application.
