Abstract:

This paper discusses the personal information which is the object of personal information management chronologically, and then summarizes the characteristics of relevant researches. The results show that the personal information subject has transformed from men of science to public, the object has transformed from physical world to both physical world and virtual world, and the research methods has transformed from enumeration and generalization to classification and induction. Based on the above, a threedimensional structure of personal information is built from the relevance of information and individual, the extent of control of information and information production way. Four kinds of information are explained and analyzed to provide reference for the research of PIM in the future.
