Abstract: [Purpose/Significance] Against the backdrop of the national strategy for cultural digitization, this study explores the potential of leveraging the characteristics of knowledge production, free creation, and collaborative experience inherent in generative artificial intelligence technology to tackle the challenges brought by the transformation of cultural heritage narrative models toward digital intelligent and participatory forms. [Design/Methodology] Based on multidisciplinary literature, this study combs through the technical characteristics of generative AI and its correlations with the mechanisms of interactive digital narrative. [Findings/Conclusion] Based on the SPP framework, the study constructs a new model of interactive digital narrative of cultural heritage driven by generative AI from three dimensions: the narrative system, process, and product. It is manifested as the ability to understand and reconstruct the cultural heritage content, and through anthropomorphic human-computer interaction, it endows the public with the freedom to create stories and a co-creation experience. [Originality/Value] By leveraging the capabilities of generative AI, the study establishes a more interactive path for story generation, emphasizing personalized creation and immersive participation. The result is a "polyphonic" digital narrative of cultural heritage, offering a new and feasible approach to fostering public cultural memory construction and identity formation.
