Abstract: [Purpose/Significance] As a key factor in production, data plays a vital role in economic and social development. Realizing the potential value of data elements has emerged as a critical means of facilitating the transformation of new quality productive forces. Archival data, as a significant resource and essential production element, how to integrate it into the forefront of digital economic development and fully excavate its value represents the pressing research topics that needs to be explored. [Design/Methodology] Starting from the context of the "boom" trend of unlocking the value potential of data elements, this research utilized methods of literature review, interdisciplinary research, and inductive-deductive reasoning to clarify the connotation of data element value and archival data element value, deconstruct the value attributes of archival data elements, and explore the pathways of realizing the value of archival data elements.[Findings/Conclusion] It is proposed that archival data elements possess essential value attributes such as production necessity, resource scarcity, authenticity proof-traceability, historical continuity, and fusion regeneration. The value realization pathways of archival data elements are constructed from four aspects of technological integration, resource development, circulation and sharing, and application in specific scenarios. [Originality/Value] This study explores the theoretical connotations of archival data element value from multiple perspectives, including archival value, data value, and element value, promoting the integration and cross-penetration of archival studies with data science and economics, and opening up new areas of research on archival data element value.
