Abstract: [Purpose/Significance] This paper explores the value empowerment paths for special collection resource development in university libraries. It reveals the core role of such resources in constructing humanistic spiritual spaces through cultural memory inheritance and narrative construction, so as to provide theoretical support and practical guidance for enhancing the cultural status of libraries and achieving cultural inheritance goals. [Design/Methodology] Based on cultural memory theory and spatial narrative theory, this study adopts a combined approach of theoretical analysis and case study, taking Luojia Collection of Wuhan University as an example. It systematically sorts out the rooting of cultural memory, the inheritance of academic traditions, and the specific narrative strategies for building humanistic spiritual spaces in special collection resource development. By analyzing the construction practices of library special collection resources in terms of historical accumulation, activation and utilization, and spatial narrative, this paper extracts the management and activation modes for its characteristic resources. [Findings/Conclusion] By adopting a three-dimensional construction model integrating resource activation, cultural memory inheritance and spatial empowerment, university library collections can achieve the inheritance and innovative development of cultural memory. The practice of the Luojia Collection indicates that the interactive mechanism formed by the three dimensions enables static special collections to be revitalized through curatorial narrative. By constructing a four-in-one integrated narrative space encompassing "physical, virtual, research and spiritual dimensions", the library repository evolves from a simple physical carrier into a cultural venue for emotional cultivation and value construction. [Originality/Value] This study innovatively integrates the dual perspectives of cultural memory theory and spatial narrative theory, and constructs an integrated theoretical framework encompassing "resource activation – memory inheritance – spatial empowerment". It extracts an operable development path based on the trinity of "historical accumulation + spatial narrative + emotional connection", providing a replicable practical plan for university libraries to shape campus cultural landmarks based on special collections.
