Abstract:
On the basis of analyzing the existing problems in traditional biliometrics and scientific evaluation. This article supposed that Reference Publication Year Spectroscopy (RPYS) could be a complementary perspective for traditional bibliometrics and scientific evaluation. To verify the suppose, firstly this article extended the time length of RPYS; then we took sentiment analysis as example and designed RPYS experiment, and we obtained 17 landmark papers in the sentiment analysis field in the result of the experiment publisheded during 19052010; at the meantime, there is a limitation on the hot spot discovery and trend analysis since RPYS is based on the perspective of references. Finally, we compared this results with that obtained by traditional bibliometrics method, which proved that in the case of the traditional literature metrology method is given priority to, joining RPYS as a supplement perspective, may obtain more comprehensive, accurate and objective results.
