Abstract: [Purpose/Significance]As an important public cultural resource supplier,  institution users’ information sharing behavior of public cultural cloud-based platforms performs a direct impact on both the quality of resource construction and public emotional cognition of cloud-based cultural platforms. This study aims to analyze the characteristics and influencing factors of institution users’ information sharing behavior and willingness, and propose suggestions for stimulating their information sharing behavior.
[Design/Methodology]This paper analyzed the data of institution users’ behavior on cultural cloud-based platforms, and explored the characteristics of institution users’ information sharing behavior. It also built a model of institution users’ information sharing intention, which was used to reveal influencing factors of their information sharing intentions, and explore the motivation mechanism of suppliers for public cultural cloud-based platforms.[Findings/Conclusion]It appears that among the information suppliers of public cultural cloud-based platforms, a minority of core members play a key role. And other characteristics include the obvious radiation effect, high engagement of institution users, and significant achievement of information sharing. However, the persistence of institution users’ information sharing behavior needs to be improved. The main influencing factors of their information sharing intention include the emotional trust, the profit and the sharing ability. It should be emphasized to help convert the institution users at both district and street levels into the core members of suppliers. Moreover, constant sharing incentive mechanism should be established from the aspects of external policies, internal management and optimization of cloud-based platforms.[Originality/Value]This paper illustrates the motivation mechanism and sharing effects for the suppliers of public cultural cloud-based platforms, proposes suggestions for motivating information sharing, and provides support for the top-level architecture design and management of public cultural cloud-based platforms.
