Abstract:
This paper aims to find out the development of information science and doctorates in China. By using of statistical analysis, comparative analysis, coword analysis, and cooccurrence analysis, the discipline and doctorates have been deeply comparatively analyzed from global to local. This paper also uses visualization tools to display the context of the discipline and doctorates development. Articles in CSSCI are data resource. This paper figures out that the development of information science is in accordance with the development of doctorates. Doctorates have a very important influence on the development of the discipline. Both of them focus on competitive intelligence, information retrieval, and knowledge management in the whole ten years. Doctorates prefer deeper researches in the years between 2006 and 2008. Some doctorates, such as Wuhan University, went through the same experience as information science, and others dig new researches out to expand the discipline.
