The Influence of Generative Artificial Intelligence on User Experience in the Context of Online Knowledge Production

摘要: [目的/意义]旨在探索在线知识生产情境下生成式人工智能对用户体验的影响,避免技术工具的发展与用户实际需求及使用习惯脱节的问题。[研究设计/方法]依托“知乎”平台与微软“New Bing”的对话功能,构建了一个人机协同的在线知识生产实验环境。采用交叉实验设计,选取精神心理健康话题作为研究案例,对实验参与者的任务绩效以及自我报告两个维度进行度量与分析,验证知识生产过程中生成式人工智能对用户体验的影响。[结论/发现]生成式人工智能对用户体验的影响主要体现在提高知识生产中客观知识的产出,缓解用户各个方面的压力负荷、提升用户对支持信息的满意度三个方面;但对降低时间成本、增加客观知识以外的知识产出和提高系统可用性等方面没有明显的积极影响。[创新/价值]揭示了生成式人工智能对知识生产的积极推动作用,并进一步探讨了其对在线知识生产环境可用性构成的挑战、情感智能方面的不足以及用户交互能力提升等问题。

Abstract: [Purpose/Significance] This study aims to explore the influence of generative artificial intelligence(GenAI)on user experience in the context of online knowledge production, so as to avoid the disconnection between the development of technological tools and users' actual needs and usage habits. [Design/Methodology] This research integrates the "Zhihu" platform with Microsoft's "New Bing" dialogue function to establish an experimental environment for human-machine collaborative knowledge production. Adopting a cross-experimental design, the study takes mental health as the focal research topic. By measuring and analyzing the task performance and self-reports of the experimental participants, it verifies the impact of GenAI on user experience during the knowledge production process. [Findings/Conclusion] The impact of GenAI on user experience is mainly reflected in three aspects: increasing the output of objective knowledge in knowledge production, relieving the pressure load of users in various aspects, and enhancing users' satisfaction with support information. However, it has no obvious positive impact on reducing time costs, increasing the knowledge output in dimensions other than objective knowledge, and improving system usability. [Originality/Value] This study not only uncovers the positive role of GenAI in promoting knowledge production but also thoroughly examines issues such as the challenges it brings to the usability of online knowledge production environments, the limitations in emotional intelligence, and the enhancement of user interaction abilities.
