[Purpose/Significance] At present, the number of items included into China's representative list of intangible cultural heritage at all levels has reached 100,000, which embodies the most profound ethnic memory of the Chinese nation. In order to cope with the omni-directional impact of the great social transformation on the protection and inheritance of intangible cultural heritage, incorporating platform technologies such as TikTok into the scope of the policy can yield substantial policy benefits and management benefits [Design/Methodology] Using literature research, policy text analysis, data analysis, case studies and other methodologies, this research extensively examined the theoretical and practical dilemmas in the protection and inheritance of intangible cultural heritage. It also explored the positive impact of TikTok on the dissemination and inheritance of intangible cultural heritage. [Findings/Conclusion] The proposal is to expand beyond the scope of static protection of intangible cultural heritage and protection of cultural ecological zones. It aims to incorporate the technological platform-based intangible cultural heritage dissemination and inheritance projects such as TikTok into the policy scope of the government purchase of public cultural services from social forces and funding from the National Art Fund. This will involve designing a dual-track policy pathway combines both government funding and market-based business models, in order to form parallel overall policy ideas for the government's original ecological genetic protection and inheritance, and market-based intangible heritage transmission and inheritance. At the same time, it is also necessary to pay attention to the problem of "market failure" in the protection and inheritance of intangible cultural heritage caused by digital technologies such as TikTok, and to establish a balance in the policy. [Originality/Value] It provides a useful reference for China to reconstruct the reproduction mode of intangible cultural heritage, reshape the transmission and inheritance chain of intangible cultural heritage, and break through the dilemma that the inheritance of intangible cultural heritage is increasingly marginalized in the daily life of the society.

[Purpose/significance] Generative artificial intelligence will cause a certain degree of AI information pollution in online communities. The various AIGC identification methods studied in this paper are of great significance to prevent the negative impact of rapidly evolving generated artificial intelligence. [Design/Methodology] This paper first constructed a HAC data set in multiple online community platforms with 54 major categories of topics of Sina Weibo, which contained 100,873 pieces of information written by humans and generated artificial intelligence respectively. Then it explored whether the current 6 kinds of mainstream deep learning and 7 kinds of machine learning methods can identify whether the information in the online community was written by human beings or generated by artificial intelligence. Finally, the BEM-RCNN method was proposed to further improve the recognition of AIGC precision. [Findings/Conclusion] From the perspective of constructed data set, it is found that generated artificial intelligence has a strong "human-like expression", which can simulate human beings to post and reply on social media platforms. The experimental results show that the method proposed in this paper has an accuracy of 96.4%, which can well identify whether the content on the online community is written by humans or AI. It is superior to the 13 other mainstream methods such as BERT, ERNIE, and TextRNN in terms of precision, recall rate, F1-value, and accuracy, verifying its performance advantages. At the same time, many exploratory experiments have also proved that although the current mainstream machine learning methods are less accurate than the method in this paper, they can also be competent for some AIGC recognition tasks. [Originality/Value] Multiple methods are used in this paper to identify AIGC on social media, and prevent information pollution caused by generative artificial intelligence on social media platforms.

[Purpose/Significance] This study explores the underlying conditions for older adults' use of social media to optimize their well-beings and empirically examines the impact of short video watching on older adults' mental health for policy implication. [Design/Methodology] Drawing on relevant theories from information sociology, communication psychology, and economics, we first proposed an analytical framework and research hypotheses based on the perspective of compensation-selective optimization theory, and then empirically examined the impacts of short video platform use on the levels of depression and happiness of older adults aged 60 and above with a nationally representative data in 2020. Our aim was to investigate the effective mediators of short video viewing behavior that integrates optimal compensatory selection for health and social needs in reducing physical and psychological social isolation among the elderly. [Findings/Conclusion] Evidence show that short video watching behavior is not significantly and directly associated with depressive symptoms or happiness among older adults, however can significantly affect health behaviors and social connectedness. Health behaviors and social connectedness both have a direct predictive impact on reducing the level of depression in the elderly and also play significant positive mediating roles in the correlation between short-video viewing and older adults' mental health. Importantly, there exists a nonlinear relationship between times spent on internet and mental health of the elderly. The positive mediating effect of health behavior would disappear if one uses Internet over 5 hours. [Originality/Value] This study innovatively analyzes impacts of rational and irrational new media platform use through a compensatory selective optimization theoretical perspective and examines mediating effects of reducing physical and mental isolation in the relationship of short video watching and mental health.
