Abstract:

Scholars have maken extensive research on user behavior, and many excellent achievements have come forward. This paper followed major research achievements, summarized and reviewed the research status of search behavior, and raised some challenges we face. Research mainly involved user classification, types of user behavior, research methods, practical application. The results showed that research of user behavior is more implicit and segmented, data collection is more diverse and scientific, research methods and models are richer, practical application is more extensive. We must fully mine and use user search behavior with methods of the scientific data collection and analysis, which contains very important implict information, to improve retrieval ability and improve user satisfaction. However, due to the randomness and implicity of retrieval behavior, there are still many shortcomings in current research on user behavior, such as the study carried out in the specific experimental environment, so the study lack versatility and external validity because it couldn’t ensure the sample data adequacy and diversity.
